We had a few changes in our roles at my current organisation. In addition to our primary job roles, each of us was assigned a secondary function.
After more than a month, following are my findings:
Cross functional role and stretch projects are good ways to bring fresh perspective to old functions.
More importantly, it helps to keep the employee in the learning mode.
Further, it works for the collective growth of the company, thanks to the individual growth of the employees, (while at the same time, it retains the employees in the organisation).
Over and above, this brings out the best of leaderships.
To put it plainly -- the secondary function has brought in a new wave of ideas, both in my current role as well as the added function.
